This year has seen a number of new graphical & gameplay features, including:

• Animated tiles, flowy flowers
• New treasure chest look
• Heatwave shader, for those really hot environments
• Treasure Chase versus mode
• Players respawn after a successful wave in Co-op Survival
• New Stun Powder battle pickup
• Monsters that have ranged attacks
• Character Select screen allows players to get a feel for their choice

I would write up a more detailed changelog, but that would take a loooooong time.
